About the Friends of the Glen Rock Public Library
The Friends is a group of Glen Rock residents who come together to help sustain the Library’s high level of excellence. The fundraising events run by the Friends generate thousands of dollars for children, teens and adult programs, provides for technology updates, and collection development. This money helps the Library Director enhance and expand Library resources and services.
The Readathon ended on March 31st. All Readathon forms and sponsorship money must be turned in to the Children’s Room of the library by Monday, April 8th. The Friends would like to make sure that each child who participated in the Readathon receives a well-deserved medal.
The Friends of the Glen Rock Public Library is an invaluable asset to the Library, by underwriting special programs for children, teens and adults, enhancing the circulating collections, providing updated technology, and a museum pass program to metropolitan area institutions.

In addition to outright donations, the Friends organizes The Great Book Sale, a Membership Incentive, and the Courtyard Paver and Tribute Gift Programs, plus several fundraising activities each year to sustain and enhance the Library. The money raised from the All*Star Readathon, which encourages school children to become prolific readers, goes specifically to children’s services.
Purchase a tribute gift
Is there a special someone in your life that you would like to honor? The Friends has a gift contribution program to achieve that goal and benefit the Library and the entire community at the same time. Please consider a donation of $25 or more “In memory of” or “In honor of” a friend, relative, or organization or celebration of a special occasion. One given in honor of a child is especially rewarding – as his or her name appears on a personalized bookplate. Your gift will be used to purchase a book, CD or DVD or audio book for the circulation collection.
Community Art Gallery
The Gallery enhances the Library and serves as an opportunity for artists to display their work. It is managed by the Friends of the Library. Applications and art are accepted throughout the year.
